Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

The race calendar is already filling up for 2017 and I'm excited to push myself even further this year. Although I've never been huge on resolutions, I have some goals for  2017:

  • Run a sub 2:45 half marathon

    • The United Airlines NYC Half in March is ideal for this - the second half is flat, I'm familiar with the course, and the cold motivates me to run faster. The Airbnb Brooklyn Half in May is also a good candidate for similar reasons.
  • Run a sub 6:00 full marathon in Chicago

    • I feel confident that I can make this happen. Chicago is far flatter than New York and mentally I will come into my second marathon better prepared. I have friends running and family traveling to cheer me on, so I won't be alone in a strange city!
  • Practice more yoga

    • I have practiced yoga sporadically throughout the last several years and always feel much better when I do. I am going to Tulum, Mexico for a week later this month on a yoga retreat and hope that will kickstart some better habits. I can't wait for the free yoga sessions at my local park to start up again in spring.
  • Read 52 books

    • I have participated in PopSugar's annual reading challenge to some extent for the last few years. Their prompts have pushed me to expand my reading and I've learned a lot. You can check out what I'm currently reading on my Goodreads page.

As an aside, I have also updated the fundraising link on this site for my Chicago Marathon fundraising page. My goal is to raise $1,000 for Team for Kids. I hope you'll join me in supporting this fantastic organization!
